Serval (サーバル, Sābaru) is a Serval Cat Friends who is also the main mascot of the Kemono Friends Franchise.

"Yahoo! Is everyone doing alright? "Serval" actually means "Hound Dog". Even though I'm a feline, why is that? I'm actually often called a "Clumsy Girl" or "Trouble Maker", but that's not the case at all! It's my job to make everyone smile. So I'll do my best today as well!"

Serval lived a peaceful life in the savanna area within Japari Park until she met Kaban on the day after the Sandstar Eruptions. She's friends with Hippopotamus and decided to follow along on Kaban's journey to find her home and identity.

Yoshizaki Mine, the creator of the Kemono Friends Franchise, got his idea after visited Singapore Zoo and gained the interest from Serval Cat, which is why Serval is always the main character in the series.
